Mrs. Witt
My name is Ashley Witt and I am the full-time School Counselor at Pisgah Forest Elementary School. 2016-2017 is my 7th year at PFE and my 10th year with Transylvania County Schools. I am proud to be able to help students reach their full potential - academically and emotionally.
I am an area native, a proud graduate of Transylvania County Schools, and a first-generation college graduate. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Elon University. I briefly worked in accounting and event planning before I became a Student Advocate (focusing in drop-out prevention and student retention) at Rosman Middle and High Schools. Early in my time at RMS/RHS, I knew I wanted to work with students long-term and went back to school. In 2010, I received my Master of Arts in Education (School Counseling) degree from Western Carolina University.
I love living in the mountains of North Carolina and spending time with my husband (a high school Social Studies teacher) and my two rescue dogs, Charlotte & Hardy. I am also a proud big sister to a Junior at UNC-Charlotte. I really enjoy going to the movies, trying new restaurants, planning events, and volunteering.
I am grateful to be joined this year at PFE by Janna Laughridge (part-time School Counselor), Nicole Ribeioro (part-time School Counseling intern), and Shanaia Powell (part-time Social Worker). We love helping you and your students!
