Dear TCS Family,
As you are aware, our community has been hit hard from Hurricane Helene. The majority of our county is without power and cell service is very limited. Transylvania County Schools will be CLOSED through Friday, October 4, 2024; with NO extra-curricular activities, including sports. We will reassess the situation as the week progresses and send out further information on Friday, Oct. 4 for the following week. For community feeding information, please look at Transylvania County Facebook or tune in to WGCR or WSQL. Let's continue to be better together and support one another. Please share this information with your neighbors and help us spread the word. Take care and stay safe.

Hello TCS Families,
Transylvania County Schools will have Virtual Learning Days on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27, 2024 for all students. All school buildings will be Closed for students and students will learn from home.
During Virtual Learning Days, K-12th grade teachers assign student work via Google Classroom. In addition, teachers are available by email from 8:00 AM to Noon. Students will have 5 days to complete work from the first day you return to school.
If you have any questions or your student has trouble accessing their Google Classroom, please contact your child's teacher. Thank you for your understanding and please be safe.
✨2nd Grade celebrated the end of their Fairy Tale and Tall Tale Unit with a fun dress-up day and a special snack. 🧚♀️📖 Students dressed up as their favorite Fairy Tale or Tall Tale character and then enjoyed 🥞 flapjacks in honor of Paul Bunyan and his gigantic flapjacks! 🌲👦
💉Flu season is here; one of the best ways to protect yourself is with a flu shot.💉
Your K-12 student can receive a flu shot from school nurses at school during the month of October.
Permission forms must be completed by September 26.

✨ 2nd grade is finishing up their Fairy Tales and Tall Tales CKLA Knowledge Domain. Ms. Moore's class attempted to build a conveyor belt to haul rocks to help John Henry build the railroad. 🚂 They had so much fun problem-solving and persevering. 🛠️💡 Tall Tales meet STEM combined with hands-on learning in our cooperative groups = lots of learning and loads of fun! 🎉📚
